About Our Process

QUOTES: All pricing is initially quoted based on the measurements provided. Final quotes will be adjusted accordingly (if necessary) once field measurements are completed. When requesting a quote, the customer should provide the job site address, contact person’s name and phone number, and desired dates for template and installation.

PROJECT TIMES: Lead Times run from 10 days to 2 weeks.  Please keep in mind quoted completion or installation times are an estimate. Rock enCounters strives to minimize your inconvenience by completing your project as quickly as possible.

TEMPLATING: A job site is ready for a template when the cabinets have been installed, the sink has been purchased and the initial deposit has been made. The customer must be present during the entire template process in order to ensure the customer receives exactly what they want. The customer will need to provide information in regards to seams, corner radius, overhangs, edge detail, backsplashes, etc. so it is recommended that they are familiar with the project and can sign off and approve all details.

All appliances (including dishwashers, stove (cooktop), and refrigerators) are required to  be in place at the time of templating. Please ensure all personal items have been removed from the kitchen and that there are not items stored in the cabinets. Rock enCounters will not be responsible for moving appliances or furniture or damages to items left in the cabinets.

Removal and disposal of existing countertops is available.  There may be an additional charge for removal of existing tile backsplashes.

SELECTION AND APPROVAL OF YOUR SLAB: We recommend that the customer view and approve their slab before the template has been made for the countertop.  We personally accompany the customer when the slab is chosen in order to answer any questions.

PLUMBING AND WIRING: It is recommended that the customer have a certified plumber or electrician handle the plumbing and wiring. Rock enCounters will not be responsible for reconnecting sinks or cooktops and these are not part of the installation. If sinks require disconnection in the removal of old tops, Rock enCounters will handle the removal of the old sink but will not be responsible for leaks or damage to the plumbing. We will make sure to work with your plumber's schedule to ensure they are there at the time of installation.

Although most of the fabrication for the countertops is completed at our location; cooktops, overmount sinks and faucet hole cut outs or other modifications may need to be done on-site at the customer's location. This will create dust. Rock enCounters will do their best to attempt to keep the dust to a minimum.

SEAMS: Depending on the  size of the slab and the size of the kitchen, seams are often inevitable. We try and design the countertops to have the least amount of seams. Seams will commonly vary from 1/16" to 1/8". We use color-coordinated epoxy to form the seam and blend in with the countertop.  The seam may be visible but we do our best to camouflage the seam so it is not easily visible to the eye. We make sure to consult with the customer about seam placement but reserve the right to adjust if needed for the integrity of the countertop.

INSPECTION: Once the installation has been completed, inspection by the customer is required.  During the installation the customer will receive an approval form for the customer to sign confirming their satisfaction with the quality of the installation and product.

CLEAN UP: Rock enCounters ensures to remove as much residual dust from your countertops created by the installation as possible.  We vacuum, dust, and sweep the work area in order to leave the job site in broom condition.
